- In case of unreinforced thermoplastics, a tear height of approximately 0.5 x the gate diameter has to be expected.
In case of reinforced/filled thermoplastics, a tear height of approximately 1 x the gate diameter has to be expected. - The duration or number of shots needed to achieve an acceptable colour change cannot be clearly stated as this depends on many factors. The system is designed for optimised colour changes. For the initial filling of the hot runner system, we recommend using natural material without additives.
- Due to the material to be processed, we recommend using an insulating cap.
- To account for the type of thermoplastics to be processed, all melt-carrying hot runner components are made of rust- and acid-resistant tool steel.
- With the type of thermoplastics to be processed, optical defects in the gate area and opposite cannot be excluded.
- A plunging gate assembly has to be in contact with the plastic.
- The calculation is based on our current technical knowledge, practical experience and the documents received. We give the information and recommendations to the best of our knowledge, yet on a non-binding basis and without liability. They do not exempt the customer from conducting their own tests and trials to determine suitability for the intended purposes. Any property rights and regulations are the customer’s own responsibility.
- The hot runner system is manufactured with complete wiring (ready to plug in) and hosing/piping. The connection and plug design / pin assignment is made according to the confirmed customer specification.
- The hot runner system is manufactured with complete wiring (ready to plug in). The connection and plug design / pin assignment is made according to the confirmed customer specification.
- With the type of thermoplastics to be processed, a higher start-up temperature and possibly a higher process temperature (in the gate area of the hot runner nozzles) must be excepted. These temperatures may differ from the raw material manufacturer’s specifications.
- We recommend providing sufficient and preferably circumferential temperature control in the gate area (feed point). Good temperature control should also be incorporated opposite the feed point.
- For this type of plastic, we recommend a valve gate system. Upon request, we also offer an open system, but the tear might be heightened or unclean.
- A filling difference of the individual nozzles with a deviation of approx. 5–10% to the average value cannot be ruled out. This may need to be compensated for by different nozzle temperatures.
- Vertical orientation of the hot runner nozzles (downward injection) may lead to drooling and/or stringing on the nozzles. For this application, we recommend a valve gate system.
