The challenge of shear forces in die making

In conventional slide solutions, the forces applied are often transmitted directly via the guiding system. The resulting shear forces place additional stress on the guiding elements and can lead to increased wear and a loss of precision in movement. To compensate for these stresses, complex guiding concepts and additional installation space are often required. Especially for compact die designs or complex installation situations this makes the design process very difficult.

Intelligent force transmission for compact designs

The Meusburger compact slide 1:1 E 6100 was specially designed for use in stamping. Its design principle is based on V-shaped force application, which significantly reduces the shear forces in the guiding system. It ensures that force is transmitted precisely and reliably, whilst reducing the load on the guide elements. A key feature is the direct 1:1 force redirection, which means 1 mm vertical movement corresponds exactly to 1 mm horizontal movement. This precise motion transmission enables the die function to be carried out with great accuracy. Furthermore, the force is applied exclusively to the lower part of the slide, which reduces the load on the die and increases operational safety. The mechanical return is also supported by an integrated spring and ensures a reliable reset of the system.

Reduced wear and longer service life

The combination of intelligent force transmission, reduced shear forces and a robust DLC coating helps to minimise wear during operation. Users benefit from higher process reliability and less maintenance. These design features help to extend the service life and ensure cost-effective operation throughout the entire life cycle of the die.
