Anaerobic adhesives stick to their word!

Maximum bond reliability with anaerobic adhesives – see for yourself!

Anaerobic adhesives

Anaerobic adhesives are used to completely seal and fasten mechanical connections. Our range includes thread sealants, threadlockers and retaining compounds.

How do anaerobic adhesives work?

The components need to be thoroughly cleaned before the adhesive is applied. We recommend using our express cleaner VCQ 10, which enables quick and efficient dirt removal. Anaerobic adhesives remain liquid until they come into contact with active metal ions in the absence of air. They are very strong and temperature resistant. At room temperature, the curing time for fixture is just a few minutes and full strength is normally reached after 24 hours.

How to lock screws in through holes

To lock screws in through holes, the screw is first inserted into the hole. Then, going round and round, the adhesive is applied directly on the thread.

How to lock screws in blind threaded holes

If the screw is to be locked in a blind threaded hole, the adhesive should be applied circumferentially on the thread inside the hole. This guarantees an optimal distribution of the adhesive on the thread.

How to seal threads

In order to seal a threaded joint, the adhesive is applied on both the male and the female thread in order to ensure optimal distribution and sealing.

How to glue in bushes

How to glue in bushes

For gluing joined parts, we recommend applying the adhesive in one or, in case of thicker plates, in two circumferential lines on the front third of the bush. In order to ensure an optimal distribution of the adhesive, the bush should be inserted into the hole with a slight rotational movement. Bushes for ball cages are first preloaded and then glued in together with the cage and the guide pillar. After applying the adhesive, the mould/die should rest for approx. 8 hours, so the adhesive can reach its full strength.

Expertise

When adhesives are used, the distinction between active and passive materials plays an important role:

Active materials are high in iron or copper and can release a high number of metal ions, which leads to short curing times.

Passive materials, on the other hand, are either metallic materials with a low catalytic effect or non-metallic. They can only release a few or no ions, so that the adhesive cures very slowly or not at all.
