On 1 June 2007, the new European chemicals regulation REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) came into effect. The REACH regulation is not only aimed at producers and importers of chemical substances. Users, as 'downstream users', also have a responsibility under the regulation to make their intended use of the substance known for the purpose of registration.
Implementation
Meusburger (as down-stream user) has complied with its duties resulting from the REACH regulation. Meusburger has obtained confirmation from its suppliers that the intended usage (mould and tool making) was stated in the registration. A direct notification of Meusburger's intended usage or that of its customers is not required.
